“Home is a 2009 documentary by Yann Arthus Bertrand. The film is almost entirely composed of aerial shots of various places on earth. It shows the diversity of life on Earth and how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet. The movie was released simultaneously on June 5, 2009 in cinemas across the globe, on DVD, Blu-ray, television, and on Youtube. Opening in 181 countries, the film broke the world record for the largest film release in history. The film was financed by PPR , a French multinational holding company specializing in retail shops and luxury brands, as part of their PR strategy”
This quote is from the Wikipedia article about the movie. To me this sounds like a big and important movie. But I have never heard of it until some classmates told me about it few weeks ago. Why? How come it has not been written about in the large newspapers in Norway?
After some quick research I found out that it was shown only in four smaller cities in Norway on the day of release (Lillehammer, Kristiansand, Arendal and Stavanger). Why? Have Norway lost interest in global warming? Is the world tired of caring about our planet?
I recommend you all to watch it yourself, if only to see the beauty of the Earth in places you didn’t know existed. Watch the movie here. It is available in Arabic, English, French, Dutch, Portugese, Russian, Spanish, Kurdish and German.
I need to say it again, Clara did a really great job yesterday at Festivalwerk in Oslo, in connection with the OD-day in Norway. She got a lot of people to give their face, and she did almost everything she could to get people involved. Over 850 people have given their face to the universe, and every moment a new person gives her/his face. That’s really good! And everybody out there who works to spread this campaign, keep up the good work! We won’t just try and change the world, we shall do it!
Involve Yourself urged people to scream out for human rights at Festivalwerk in Oslo yesterday. It proved to be an easy task – alltogether they involved over 260 people who wanted to take part in our global campaign. The best “scream” wins a digital camera. Involve Yourself is currently evaluating all the pictures.
Clara Bergene (16) was in charge of the stand at Youngstorvet. – It was great fun, and also very cold! I’m really happy that so many screamed out for human rights, and supported our campaign, she says.
All the photos will be part of the new Golden Record which will tell the truth about all the human rights-issues our world is facing. The disc will also be filled with statements from around the world on how we can improve the difficult situation many people are facing.

Involve Yourself-agents asked people in Trondheim to write down their thoughts when they heard the words “human rights”. Contributors came up with all sorts of associations. In fact a lot of the stuff written on post-it notes were of the positive sort. This makes us happy! Not everybody thinks of violations of human rights – but rather that our rights as human beings are there to protect us! Keep up the good spirit!
It’s something about the quote that says:”We close our eyes to the things we don’t want to see”. We switch off the television when the news about misery turns up. We don’t want to see it and don’t want to feel it.
This is misery. You close your eyes because you are living such a great life, and they are not. You have to face it. No one is expecting you to turn upside down on the situation, no one is expecting you to do it alone. We have to help each other, stand together, and change it. This is happening, this is reality, whether you like it or not, whether you close your eyes or keep them wide open.
Give your face, and show the world that your eyes still are open.
This is a really huge day for everyone who works with this campaign. The first political leader has given her face to the universe. Erna Solberg, I hope a lot of other leaders will do just like you, and show their support for the campaign. I need to say that I’m really proud!
Do you see the difference between a kid with black skin, and one with white? Do you think they should have the same rights? Many people don’t think so, and that’s wrong. Everyone has the same rights, and everybody should follow the rights. So when you look at two persons with different coloured skin, you see to different persons, with two different personalities, but with all the same rights!

This is how Involve Yourself-agents launched the campaign in Volda! They sent out secret messages via blue-tooth teasing that something was coming up! Â On the official day of launch, people were lead to a secret room where all they found was a computer showing the campaign-movie. The audience did not know who was behind it all! – It was great fun planning it all, says one of the agents.

These human rights-videos were made this summer by youth in Norway. Each group had 20 seconds each and proved how incredibly creative time-pressure makes you. These video-clips are of great importance – as they are the voice of the new generation! They will be part of the content on the new disc – portraying the real world!
Why not try and make a video yourself? Tag it with Involveyourself – and it can also be part of the new disc launched into space! Here is how you do it.
Volunteers from the Norwegian Red Cross Youth, PRESS – Save the Children Youth Norway, the Norwegian People’s Aid Youth and Changemaker made a photo-exhibition portraying youth on the run. The result was overwhelming. Didn’t know they had so many great photographers.
Did you know that 41 million people are refugees or internally displaced people? The Norwegian Refugee Council provides humanitarian assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees.
